Lelystad Municipality processes personal data for the performance of its statutory and public tasks. This privacy statement applies to all personal data processed by Lelystad Municipality in the performance of its tasks.

Rules

Everyone has a right to privacy. To guarantee your right to privacy, the municipality handles your personal data with the utmost care and confidentiality. Not every civil servant is allowed to view or use them, let alone pass them on to third parties. There are clear rules for this which are prescribed in the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). Use of personal data

  • The municipality only carries out tasks of direct interest to its residents and visitors. To perform these tasks, Lelystad municipality sometimes uses personal data of its residents and visitors.

  • If you purchase a service or product from, contact or visit the municipality, in many cases the municipality also uses your contact details, such as your telephone number and e-mail address to provide you with good service.

Obligations and responsibilities

  • Lelystad Municipality is responsible for handling your personal data carefully and confidentially and has a number of duties to protect your personal data from unauthorised access or unlawful use. The municipality must comply with the laws and regulations governing the processing of personal data, which means, among other things, that Lelystad Municipality will only use your personal data if there is a valid purpose for doing so, such as carrying out statutory and public tasks. These personal data may not be used for other purposes.
  • Lelystad Municipality has appropriate security measures -procedures to protect your personal data. In addition to technical security measures such as encryption of personal data and access controls to computer systems, municipal employees have a duty of confidentiality and access to personal data is only given to employees who are authorised to do so.
  • Lelystad Municipality does not retain your personal data longer than necessary for the proper performance of its duties and compliance with legal obligations.

  • Right to correct, supplement, delete or shield your data if necessary.
  • Right to object to processing of your personal data.
  • Right to complain about the use of your personal data.

You can submit your request digitally(fg@lelystad.nl) or in writing. In any case, the municipality will respond to this request in writing within 4 weeks. You can then request the municipality to supplement, correct or delete these details, indicating in your request which changes you want. The municipality will also respond to this request in any case within 4 weeks. To prevent abuse, we may ask you to identify yourself. Please use the example letter from the Personal Data Authority as a starting point to ensure your request is complete.
