The Bultpark in Lelystad attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year. You can sport, play and relax there. Here, the municipality works together with volunteers. The municipality does the basic maintenance and volunteers from the Bultpark Committee Foundation ensure an extra beautiful, clean and accessible park. For example, there is a gnome trail for children, a sensory garden, a walking route for the visually impaired and an exercise route.

IVN Flevoland consists of a group of volunteers who want to bring nature close by. They want young and old to experience nature. There are all kinds of things to do. You can take a walk with a specially trained IVN guide or go on the IVN Treks yourself. Or you can take a course on plants and animals. IVN also does a lot for (primary) schools. So children can enjoy being in nature.

Some places in Lelystad are maintained by volunteers of Lanschapsbeheer Flevoland. The Kwelstrook near Bataviastad, for instance. You can also go to Landschapsbeheer Flevoland for activities and courses. Learn to mow with the scythe or go looking for birds in and around the city. Every year, Landschapsbeheer Flevoland organises a Nature Working Day, where everyone rolls up their sleeves. Will you join us?

Enjoy nature together. That is what you can do at nature club KNNV Lelystad. KNNV stands for Royal Dutch Natural History Society. It is also called the association for field biology. The association includes people who have a thing for nature, and would like to share it. For example, by going for a walk, attending a lecture or taking photographs. You can always come to KNNV Lelystad with a question. The volunteers are happy to share their knowledge with you.

Lelystad has more than 800 vegetable gardens. These vegetable gardens are spread across various allotment complexes. These are pieces of land divided into sections. Each piece is a vegetable garden, where gardeners can maintain their vegetable garden. Allotment association members are happy to share their knowledge. So feel free to get in touch if you have any questions about vegetable gardening.

M.I.L.A. stands for Met Inzet Lukt Alles. This foundation was founded by Mila Romijn. She lives in the Zuiderzeewijk district in Lelystad. In this neighbourhood, Mila sets up projects together with volunteers and residents. For instance, painting together, sharing things or cleaning up litter.

With dedication Everything Works

Nature is even more beautiful without litter. Picking up litter together is good for nature and very sociable. Lelystad Schoon volunteers often start in their own street. But you can also help clean up an alley. You can help during an event. Or you can become a volunteer. Lelystad Schoon also has Zap teams. These are children who clean up litter under the supervision of a parent using a litter picker.

Love the bee? Then join the National Bee Society (NBV). The NBV East Flevoland division is an independent society, for beekeepers in East Flevoland. That is the area between Keteldijk and Knardijk. Oostrandpark is located on the eastern side of Lelystad. Since 1973, residents have enjoyed living here in green surroundings. There is a toad pool, flower meadow, sheep herd and much more.
