Together with residents, we make the city even greener and nicer. And the great thing is? By making the city more beautiful bit by bit, nature grows all around us. On this site you will find inspiration, plus practical tips to get started yourself.
Buy a green roof now at a discount
From A Greener Lelystad Lelystad Council and IVN Flevoland are working together with residents to increase the number of green roofs in the city. Through the Groene Loket, you can now receive a 30 per cent grant towards a green roof. If you apply for a green roof together with your neighbours or as a residents’ association, the discount rises to 50 per cent. Will you join in?
Green roofs help reduce the heat in your street.
A traditional roof traps heat. A green roof, on the other hand, helps to cool the area. The layer of plants provides fresh air and reduces heat. Green roofs also effectively collect rainwater during (heavy) downpours. In addition, the plants attract bees and butterflies. This brings more nature to the neighbourhood. The more green roofs there are in the neighbourhood, the cooler and healthier the environment becomes.
