Lelystad is working on plans for a New Nature Knowledge Centre. This will be a place where people and nature meet and strengthen each other. The idea is to collect and share knowledge about new nature through the Knowledge Centre. And to think together about the nature of the future.
KNN event: A Vote for Nature
The New Nature Knowledge Centre organised an inspiring afternoon and evening on Thursday 5 February in which you could discover how nature can speak without words. Former Lelystedelinge Jessica den Outer, author of Rights for Nature, gave an inspiring keynote lecture on the subject.
During this event, new nature made itself heard in images, shapes and sounds. Visitors interacted with nature using all their senses to see, listen and feel what new nature was saying.
Network of organisations
The plans for the Knowledge Centre are still in full development. Together with partners, we are looking at what the Knowledge Centre will look like. In the future, the Knowledge Centre will be a network of different organisations, such as schools, universities, nature organisations and site managers. Even though we are still working on the development of the Knowledge Centre, we will start organising meetings in 2025. For that, keep an eye on this page for more information.
The Nature Agenda
The Knowledge Centre is part of the Lelystad programme 'From Green Dreams to Green Action'. With this programme, Lelystad wants to show that it wants to play an important role in the development of nature in the Netherlands.
