More Trees Now

A tree makes hundreds of seedlings every year. These are small trees about 50 to 150 centimetres tall. These seedlings can be anywhere. Along the road, in the forest or in the greenery around the corner. The trees often do not survive there because they are in the wrong place. That is why Lelystad municipality has entered into a collaboration with Meer Bomen Nu. Together with residents, we dig out the trees and move them. Some trees go to a place where they can survive. Such as a farmyard, food forest or park. The rest we hand out. This way, the little tree gets a second chance in a Lelystad!

Pick up a free tree in Lelystad

Lelystad residents can register for a free tree via More Trees Now. The distribution days are at the tree depot in Lelystad (Schoepenweg 4). This location holds trees and plants that need a temporary spot. For example, because work is in progress or they are being transplanted.

Help with harvesting

More Trees Now also harvests seedlings with the help of residents. It is not necessary to have knowledge of greenery. The organisation of More Trees Now provides tools. Anyone can sign up to help out for a day!

Together 1 for nature

If everyone saves 1 tree, together we will make a big difference. Lelystad municipality considers a healthy green city important. That is why this year, for the first time, the municipality is actively participating in saving saplings through More Trees Now. The action is part of the Nature Agenda. An even greener and nature-rich Lelystad is good for our health and future, and also nicer to live in for people and animals. Together with the city, we are working on Lelystad where nature has a place in our daily lives.
